3 dead in Durham Region from suspected drug overdoses: police

Police suspect drug overdoses were responsible for the deaths of three men in Durham Region early Friday morning.

Durham Regional Police told Global News two males, one in his 30s and the other in his 40s, were located deceased in a high-rise building in Ajax, Ont.

Police said a male in his 20s was also found dead in Bowmanville in the Courtice area east of Oshawa.

Authorities said the three fatalities may be linked to drugs laced with fentanyl.

Police in York Region were also called to a residence in Vaughan just northwest of Toronto for yet another suspected overdose case.

York Regional Police said two people were taken to hospital and their condition is unknown.
